Butchky & Woodstock Schneider

Meet our kids Butchky & Woodstock:

Butchky is an African Grey Parrot, aged 15. We purchased him when he was 9 weeks old.  He eats almost everything I eat. His favorite foods are Chinese Food, Pizza, Hamburgers, Steaks, chicken, eggs, pasta, tuna, bread, broccoli, cauliflower, and hot water. Butchky speaks in the same pitch and tonalities as Michelle & I. When the phone rings he’ll say Hello, and sound exactly like me. When he says goodbye, he sounds exactly like Michelle. There are times that when Michelle & I are in different rooms, we will be talking to the bird, thinking that we are talking to each other. He lets us know when he has to “poop”, when he is hungry, and when he wants hot water. He loves to play “peek a boo” and other kid games.

Woodstock is a Budgerie (a larger Australian parakeet). Age unknown. I found him in our backyard about four years ago, half dead, terrified of hands, and afraid of people. We checked the neighborhood, and no one would confess to losing a bird. So we adopted him. After about two weeks, he had totally physically recovered. After about a year, he became very social. Not afraid of us, hands, or anything. He’s totally fearless. He can fly, and Butchky’s wings have been clipped so he can’t fly. Due to this advantage Woodstock bully’s the heck out of Butchky. He eats everything Butchky eats with the addition of Lettuce leafs.

Everyone just loves to brag about their kids, and I am no exception.
